Before You Arrive on Campus

Make sure you access the Orientation System in CatPAWS to review your Incoming Student Task List to ensure you have everything completed prior to arriving on campus. The Incoming Student Task List provides information about financial assistance, orientation, residential life, wellness services and more.

Register Your Car

If you plan to have a car on campus, you can register it through CatPAWS (make sure you snap a pic of your license plate number so you can fill out the online form.) under the Personal Information tab. You may pick up the permit when you arrive on campus. Pick-up times and location are listed online

Submit Health History Form and Immunization Records

You must complete the Health History Form Dynamic Form (for domestic students) and immunization records to Wellness Services prior to classes beginning or moving into the residence halls.

Sign Your Laptop Agreement

Before you pick up your laptop, you will need to sign your Laptop Agreement in CatPAWS under the Personal Information tab. You may pick up your laptop when you arrive on campus from the John T. Rickman Electronic Campus Support Center. Pick-up times listed here.

Beginning College Survey of Student Engagement (first-time freshmen)

In the weeks before the semester starts, you will receive a link in your Northwest email to complete the Beginning College Survey of Student Engagement (BCSSE). It’s important that each student completes it as this helps provide Northwest with information about how to best support you. You will also use this information in your University Seminar course.

Verify Your Enrollment

When online verification is available (11 days before classes begin), you will receive an email prompting you to complete this process. Log in to CatPAWS and proceed to “Student” tab then “Verification” to complete the process. You will need to complete this before you pick up your textbooks. You may pick up your textbooks when you arrive from The StationPick-up times listed here.

Check Your Northwest Email Regularly

You will use your Northwest email and Northwest Online username and password on a daily basis. Start getting in the habit of logging in and checking your email before you arrive.
