The Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (J.E.D.I.) Certificate Program through the Office of Diversity and Inclusion is for students interested in exploring concepts centered around differing ideas and perspectives, gaining the knowledge necessary to create inclusive communities, and advocating for their peers and the rights of others.
To help explore and gather various experiences and information, we offer two (2) pathways for the certificate programs designed to fit diverse participants' interests, passions, and schedules.
Pathway ONE: Educational Programs/Workshops
The Education Workshop Pathway helps students develop greater self-awareness, gain an understanding of identity and foundational knowledge about communities, explore intrapersonal components, and develop advocacy skills.
Participants must attend Eight workshops in (1) academic year.
Pathway TWO: Cultural Programming and Engagement
The Cultural Programming and Engagement pathway aims to provide participants diverse cultural knowledge, focusing on heritage awareness, cultural celebration, and current worldviews. In this certificate program, participants can explore interpersonal elements, accept and celebrate differing cultures and perspectives, and engage in inclusive community building and collaboration.
Participants must attend TEN engagements in (1) academic year.
The J.E.D.I. Certificate Program is a self-guided experience. You choose the events, workshops, and programs based on your schedule. You can receive a J.E.D.I. certificate by participating and completing one or both pathways’ list of approved events and seminars. Check out the list of events that are open for the fall semester.
