The Northwest Alumni Association solicits nominations for the awards from all members of the University community. A selection committee of elected members from the Alumni Board of Directors reviews the materials submitted for each candidate and selects the top two candidates in each category.
The Northwest Missouri State University Retiree Association submits nominations for the Distinguished Faculty Emeritus Award to the Alumni Board of Directors selection committee for review.
The Northwest Missouri State University Office of the Provost submits nominations for the Distinguished Faculty Award to the Alumni Board of Directors selection committee for review.
The top two candidates selected in each category are presented to the Connect/Activities Committee to review and choose the top candidate and recipient for each award. The recipient selections for each category will be brought before the Alumni Association Board of Directors to ratify the selection.
If a current Alumni Board of Director submits a nomination, they are not eligible to serve on the selection committee.
